Ecological Design & Construction
The Ecological Design and Construction WG’s area of focus is to bring about Built Environment Professionals who are ecologically responsible in the delivery of the built environment – this includes being skilled in holistic thinking and craftsmanship, able to design with understanding of materials and construction techniques, to achieve low consumption, low wastage and low energy in construction as well as in the way buildings are used by occupants.
The WG is currently collaborating with polytechnics and builders, to give students the opportunity to visit construction sites and work as interns, and also other educators to introduce children to hands-on skills.
