About this Seminar
This seminar will provide a practical construction law perspective on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) requirements in Singapore’s built environment sector. We will examine the deeper ecological context that should underpin ESG obligations—including the planetary boundaries framework and the growing recognition that sustainability requires more than carbon reduction alone —alongside the rapidly expanding landscape of climate change litigation and Singapore’s emerging role as a dispute resolution hub for climate-related disputes. Moving beyond policy discussions, the seminar will address the contractual allocation of ESG risks, regulatory compliance and emerging dispute issues. The session is designed to contribute to the development of consistent industry approaches to ESG in construction law, including the evolution of standard clauses, risk allocation models and best practices that may inform future SCL(S) guidance and protocol development.
